Welcoming Our Newest Staff Members

Becci Wood, General Conference Event Project Manager

I am excited to be joining the GMC Staff Team, working with the General Conference Council for the 2026 General Conference. I have been organizing and leading key events for organizations, corporations, and denominations for over 30 years. My best friend and husband, John, and I are both ordained elders in The Wesleyan Church. I am incredibly proud of my seven children—four by birth and three from the marriages of my three oldest kids—as well as my three grandchildren, with a fourth on the way. Outside of my family and ministry, I enjoy savoring a great cup of coffee, reading a good book, and adventuring with John, our children, and friends.

Matt Conover, Executive Director of Finance

I live in Louisville, but plan to be in Lubbock often.  Ordained Elder in MidSouth Annual Conference; delegate to Convening General Conference; past treasurer of the MidSouth Annual Conference.  Experience in working with Fortune 500 companies as well as non-profits.
I grew up in Moline, IL and went to school in Davenport, Iowa.
When I’m not using my abacus, I like to watch any baseball game, but especially the Chicago Cubs.  I also collect baseball cards and memorabilia.  I have approximately over 80,000 cards.  My wife is thankful that I will be able to spend more time NOT collecting any more cards.
I’m grateful for my family’s support, which allows me to thrive in my role with the GMC. Their understanding and encouragement are invaluable.  I’ve been married to my bride, Janice, for 36 years, we have a beautiful family – a son and daughter in law and two of the most wonderous grandchildren – all who live in Louisville.
Goals I have for the position:
  1. Transparency – My theology and philosophy of church finances is that none of it is mine.  Therefore, in my interactions with other commissions as well as the general church; I will do all in my power to make sure that I provide clear, easy to understand and transparent reporting.
  2. Accountability – There will be a set of financial policies and procedures which will be agreed upon by the Finance, Administration, Pension and Benefits Commission.  It will be imperative that these policies provide guardrails in which the business of the church can journey while being accountable; but also not restricting the work of the church.
  3. Integrity – We have one chance at building the trust of the church while it is still in its infancy.  The only way to build that trust is through acting in all matters with integrity.  There is no such thing as a small decision that doesn’t require our full attention in being an organization that puts forth integrity as a primary value.
I feel called into this position to use the unique skills and talents God has blessed me with.  I have been given a chance to make an impact on not just the financial health of the GMC; but to be a part of the mission and ministry that flows out of the financial gifts of so many churches and individuals.  I am honored to be a part of such an amazing organization, and pray God is praised through my time with the GMC. I am really looking forward to working with the staff and seeing how God is going to move mightily the GMC!

Molly Williams, Bookkeeper

I am a devoted wife and mother, married to my high-school sweetheart, Chad. Together, we are raising our four young daughters in the beautiful state of New Mexico.

I attended Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, where I received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Immediately after graduation, I began working in the office of a Christian camp, where I had worked during my college summers. With nine years of experience in that office, I honed my skills in administration and finance. Although the camp was an ideal environment for our family, the demands of my job made regularly attending church challenging. Despite our efforts to stay involved, Chad and I ultimately decided to move to ensure our children could grow up actively engaged in our church community.

Our family moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where Chad and I both served on staff at Grace Methodist Church. I took on the role of Treasurer and was also actively involved in the Worship Arts program. Additionally, I worked part-time as the Financial Secretary of Community Methodist Church in Ruidoso, New Mexico. I serve on the Finance Committee of the West Plains Conference and on the Board of Directors at Sacramento Camp and Conference Center.

I was a delegate to the convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church and served as the secretary of the Episcopacy Committee. During the General Conference, I felt God calling me to be a leader in the Global Methodist Church and have been actively seeking God’s guidance ever since. This calling led me to serve as the finance chair on the General Conference Commission of the Global Methodist Church and to accept the role of Bookkeeper for the denomination. I look forward to stepping into these new roles and living out the calling God has placed on my life.

I have a deep love for the church and am dedicated to shaping the Global Methodist Church in whatever way God leads me.

With each new addition to our team, we strengthen our commitment to passionately worship, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. We are excited to see how God will work through these new leaders in the Global Methodist Church! Please join us in praying for them as they step into their new roles.
