GuideStone Transition

Effective July 1, 2024, administration of the Global Methodist Church’s programs providing health insurance, retirement benefits, and other benefits for its clergy and lay employees will move from Wespath Benefits and Investment to GuideStone Financial Services. Wespath will continue providing such services through June 30. See also the GuideStone Health Insurance Rates for additional information.

An Important Word for Female Clergy

Some have wondered what impact this transition will have on female GM Church clergy. Female clergy will continue to be covered under the retirement benefits, health insurance, and other

benefits administered by GuideStone on the same basis as male clergy. GuideStone, originally founded to serve Southern Baptist churches and pastors, today serves several Christian denominations in addition to the Southern Baptist Convention.

The Global Methodist Church has been assured by the leadership of GuideStone that decisions made by the Southern Baptist Convention on issues such as the ordination of women or women serving in any clergy role do not and will not impact the services that GuideStone provides to the Global Methodist Church.

GuideStone has served like-minded, non-Southern Baptist churches since 2004. GuideStone has stated the following: “Some of the churches and denominations we serve hold differing beliefs on the offices in the church and who may fill those roles. While we may disagree on some beliefs and practices, we share far more in common than we have differences and are able to serve them effectively in their benefit needs.”

As part of its decision to have GuideStone administer its benefits programs, the Global Methodist Church has communicated to GuideStone that it is unequivocally committed to the ordination and deployment of women in any and all leadership positions in the Global Methodist Church and its regional conferences and local churches.

Benefits Plans and Administration Through June 30, 2024

The Global Methodist Church provides health insurance for eligible clergy of local Global Methodist congregations in the United States through “HealthFlex.” Health insurance is also available to approved extension ministries of the GM Church where the ministries elect to participate. HealthFlex is administered for the GM Church by Wespath. Eligible clergy are also offered Covenant Clergy Personal Investment Plan (Covenant PIP), a 403(b) defined contribution plan sponsored by the Global Methodist Church.

Makanisa ya mitaa yanaweza pia kushiriki katika Agano PIP kwa wafanyikazi wao walei. Makanisa yangekuwa na orodha ya chaguzi tatu ambazo kuchagua: 1) kuruhusu wafanyakazi kutoa michango ya busara kutoka kwa malipo yao; 2) kanisa linalolingana na mchango wa mfanyakazi mlei, hadi 5% ya fidia ya mfanyakazi mlei; au 3) kuchangia 5% ya fidia ya wafanyakazi walei pamoja na mechi ya mchango wa mfanyakazi hadi 5% ya ziada. Utaratibu wa kuandikisha wafanyakazi walei unaendelea kuendelezwa.

ya Kanisa la Methodist Ulimwenguni hutoa bima ya afya kwa makasisi wanaostahiki wa makanisa ya Methodist ya Ulimwenguni nchini Marekani kupitia "HealthFlex." Bima ya afya pia itapatikana kwa huduma za ugani zilizoidhinishwa za Kanisa la GM ambapo huduma huchagua kushiriki. HealthFlex inasimamiwa kwa Kanisa la GM na Wespath. Utoaji wa chanjo utaanza Januari 1, 2023.

Washiriki wanaweza kuchagua kutoka  mipango sita ya matibabu, ambayo imeainishwa hapa. Aidha, kuna mipango mitatu ya meno na mipango mitatu ya maono inapatikana. HealthFlex hutumia mtandao wa kitaifa wa PPO wa Blue Cross / Blue Shield, mtandao wao mpana zaidi.

Kila kanisa / malipo au huduma ya ugani iliyoidhinishwa - popote iko - ambao makasisi wanashiriki katika HealthFlex watalipa tathmini sawa kulingana na chanjo iliyochaguliwa na kila mshiriki: Chanjo ya kibinafsi ni $ 841; Mshiriki + 1 tegemezi ni $ 1597; Huduma ya familia ni $ 2185. Ikiwa ubaguzi utatolewa, kanisa halilipi tathmini ya bima ya afya kwa Kanisa la GM. Mchungaji anayetaka kudai moja ya msamaha lazima afanye hivyo kwa kukamilisha fomu hii. Tafadhali zingatia maelekezo haya.

Kufunika ni hiari kwa wafanyakazi wa kawaida ambao hufanya kazi angalau masaa 30 kwa wiki, hata hivyo 75% ya wafanyikazi wanaostahili katika tovuti ya huduma lazima washiriki.
